Taczak

Alternative spellings: Tazak

The Taczak family has been easily traced thanks to outstanding research by several genealogists and church records that are intact!  The Taczak family originates from Circ, Slovakia.  Records go back to at least early 1800s!  In 1884, John Taczak immigrated to the United States.  He married Maria Kovalyak in 1888 and became a naturalized American citizen in 1892.  His youngest son, William Taczak is my grandfather.

  1. My grandfather was John Taczak and his wife was Anna Glavna. They lived in Pittsburgh, PA. I believe they were children when they immigrated to the US around the turn of the century

    1. Thanks for connecting!!! John Taczak, your grandfather, would have been my great uncle---he was brother to my grandfather Willam. I would enjoy hearing any stories you might have or pictures you might want to share. If you go to the "contact me" page, you can email me directly!

  2. I remember Mary Taczak and her husband. I was over at the house many times. Mr Taczak would build structures out of toothpicks. He had a ferris wheel that was amazing. It was about 3 feet high and the attention to detail was awesome.

  3. Hello. I am the second oldest son of Mary Anne (Mamie) Taczak (born 1924), the oldest daughter of John Taczak and Anna (Glovna not Glavna) Taczak who married Lamond J. Miller in Pittsburgh, Pa. Yes John & Anna were both born in Slovakia and immigrated to the US. Mary Anne Miller died in 2010 at the age of 86. Both brother John (1929) and younger sister Margaret (Peggy 1938) have died already. Lamond (Lem) & Mary Anne had 4 children (David / Michael / Susan / Donald). All are still living in 2024. I spent much time in Brookline Pa. while growing up. MJM
